“Head Healer Easton wants to see you.”

I glance up from the chart I am looking at, which is outside of the hospital room. It appears the potion they gave this girl made her sick so they started something else. This one seems to be working.

“Did he say what he wanted?” I ask Ewan, who is the one delivering the message.

“No, but he said it was important. I can handle the rest of your cases,” he offers.

“It was never this tiring living with them.”

I don’t even bother to glance over at my sister from where I am laying on the bed. Instead, I just move over to the side. I don’t even have to offer and she doesn’t ask as she flops down next to me, making the mattress shift.

I quickly walk down the street, passing people as I do. Maybe this was a mistake, walking home. It is too crowded to apparate without anyone seeing, unless I got into an alley and that would be foolish to do at night.

I woke up later than usual today, though after staying out until the club closed, that is not a surprise. I actually had a lot of fun last night. Parvati's friends are nice, though I have only seen then a handful of times.

As I begin to make breakfast, I would make some for Parvati but I know she will still be sleeping, when I hear a tapping on the window. Curious, I open the window and find an adorable Burrowing Owl.

"Padma?"

I recognize the voice and debate about whether to continue walking as I pull off my gloves, throwing them away in a close rubbish bin. I could do that, but something in my forces me to glance over my shoulder and answer. "Yes?"

Ewan winces slightly. "Are you still mad at me?"

Parvati told me about what happened yesterday. I thought maybe this man was gone, but apparently not. I have no proof that he is doing something wrong, but it's making me nervous that he was watching Parvati like that. She is certain it's the same man I don't doubt it. The problem is, what can we do about it?

"What exactly are you doing?"

"What does it look like?" I ask, continuing to scrub at my nails. There has to be a better way. The nail polish remover smells horrible and I have cotton balls scattered on my desk.

"If I knew, I wouldn't have asked," Ewan remarks.

I haven’t worked on any major procedures since the incident before. Instead, I have been taking care of minor problems. Some broken bones and of course, taking care of the children who stay overnight. As well as a former Hufflepuff on a horse. People are still talking about that. Yet, I knew soon I would be back in the thick of things. I was right.

This is the hardest thing I ever have to do. I don't have to do it often, thank goodness, but when I do, it tears me apart. I feel like I can't breathe and I feel like someone is clenching a fist around my heart.

"Padma...would you rather I did this?" Ewan asks.

I'm out again with Parvati and I am starting to regret it. It isn't that I don't enjoy being with my sister, but I worked a long shift and my feet are already sore, so putting on a pair of Parvati's heels was not the best thing.

I sit at the bar, sipping my drink and glance toward the dance floor. I know Parvati went to dance, but she must have a lot of energy. She has spent most of the time on the dance floor. I was with her for awhile, but I told her I needed to take a break. Now she's dancing quite close to a man that had been dancing near us.

"What exactly are you doing?"

"Relaxing," I answer as I open my eyes. I usually am very formal, but currently, I have my feet propped on my desk and I am leaning back in my chair. I have taken my share of spills doing this in the past. Of course, usually I had my door closed so no one else knew that.

"Well, if you fall over, you're going to be a patient," Ewan laughs as I look at him upside down.

"I found one!"

"I did too!"

I smile as I watch the children look around the room for the hidden plastic eggs I helped the nurses place around the children's ward. There are candies and little treats in each of them. I watch as Kaitlyn and Natalie search together. Rob is searching as well as two others I haven't gotten to meet yet. Anne and Tim have both gone home.

"Do you ever go home?"

A voice pulls me from thoughts. "Is that the place I sometimes sleep?" I joke with one of the healers, Ewan, turning to face him. I'm standing outside of one of St. Mungo's side entrances, just looking up at the sky. It's the full moon tonight.

Sundays are usually quieter than the rest of the week, though we do have our share of emergencies. However, when I have a little free time, and it's not in the middle of the night, I usually stop in to visit some of my children there. I check to be certain they are all able to have a bit of sugar and put some candies in my lab coat pocket. I keep candy just for that reason. I think Professor Lupin had the right idea during our third year, since more than once, he said chocolate was helpful, usually when he mentioned dementors.

I'm still shaken by what happened at the bookstore a few days ago. I didn't tell Parvati after the first time, but I know I have to tell her now. She isn't one to go to bookstores often, especially ones that sell used books, but that man has seen me twice and while Parvati has longer hair and seems much more glamorous than I, we are still identical twins.

"Don't you have to work today?" Parvati comes out of her room and it looks like she just woke up. She yawns and stretches, rising up on her toes before dropping back to her feet.

"I work the late shift," I remind her. I post my schedule, but she often forgets. However, my hours are a bit like hers, random at best.

I let my fingertips travel over the books as I walk down one of the aisles. I pause as I reach the end and take a deep breath. I love the smell of older books mixed with the wood of the bookshelves.

This store is nothing at all like one of those large chain bookstores, but I prefer these. No pushy booksellers nor the constant whir of the various machines at the cafe that is usually in these places.

I can't sleep. I sigh and toss over once more in my bed. I am exhausted, but I can't seem to relax enough to sleep. My body still feels tense and my mind is racing from the cases I faced today.

I look over at the clock and sigh. I got home close to midnight and it is now past three. I have two days off, but I wish I could sleep tonight. I heard Parvati get home. I had left her a note with my schedule. I hope she means what she says, about having lunch together.

Sitting on my knees, I put one of my books back on the shelf, which I have arranged into categories that only I understand. I know where each and every book is though. Parvati calls this odd. I call it being organized. At school, I always kept my coursework organized and I find that it serves me well. It certainly did when I was training to be a healer.

“Don’t you ever get tired of reading?”

"Parvati, are you almost done?" I call, knocking on the door.

"Almost. My curls aren't staying. You might have the right idea, keeping your hair short, though you can't do much with it then."

"Can't you do that in your room?" I ask. I glance at the clock and sigh. I had to stay later than planned last night so I let myself sleep in. I hadn't expected Parvati up before noon, yet here she is. She's been getting ready for the past forty minutes. I still have to shower and get ready for work.
